In the DHI hair transplant technique, grooving and graft implantation can be performed simultaneously. These processes, which are performed in 2 stages in other techniques, are performed in one step in the DHI technique. These operations are done with a tool called choi pen. This is the reason why DHI hair transplantation is called the choi method.

Before DHI Hair Transplantation

Before the hair transplant, you will undergo a special examination by the experts. During this examination, a special hair transplant plan is created for you. During the examination; criteria such as hair structure, degree of hair loss, hair density in the donor area are examined. After that, a special front hairline design is made for the patient. While designing the hairline, attention is paid to the patient’s age, face shape, hair structure and wishes.

DHI Hair Transplant Operation

DHI hair transplantation is performed under local anesthesia. The operation is carried out in 2 stages. These;

Stage 1: Collection of Hair Roots

In the DHI technique, the hair follicles in the donor area are first collected one by one with special tools.

Collected hair follicles are made ready for transplantation.

 Stage 2: Transplanting Hair Roots

The hair follicles collected in the 2nd stage are carefully placed into the Choi implanter pen.

Hair follicles placed in the pen are transferred to balding areas.

When performing the transplant procedure, attention should be paid to the natural angle and direction of the hair follicles.

In the procedure, an average of 2 – 6 choi pens and 15 – 16 choi needles are used.

Why DHI Hair Transplant is Preferred Than Other Methods?

  • In the DHI technique, the length of time the hair follicles stay outside the body is considerably shorter. The shortness of this period allows the hair follicles to be transplanted more vividly and healthily.
  • The survival rate of hair follicles is higher in DHI technique.
  • Less bleeding is experienced in the operations performed with this technique.
  • The donor area is less damaged.
  • The healing process is faster. The patient can return to his daily life in a shorter time.
  • Unshaved hair transplantation can be done with the DHI technique.

After DHI Hair Transplantation

After DHI hair transplantation, it is almost the same as after hair transplantation with other techniques. The difference is that in hair transplantation performed with the DHI technique, recovery goes faster and tissue damage is less.

  • The first wash after the operation is performed in the hair transplant clinic. The patient can perform the washings after the first wash.
  • In the first days after the operation, redness, itching, crusting and small pimples can be seen in the treated areas. These will pass in a short time.
  • Transplanted hair follicles begin to fall out 2 weeks after the operation. This is called shock spill. The shock spill phase is the one experienced by everyone who has a hair transplant. After this phase, the hair will grow in a healthier way.
  • After shock shedding, healthy hair follicles begin to grow. Your hair takes its final shape approximately 8 – 12 months after the operation.
