Hair transplantation consists of 3 stages. Before hair transplantation, hair transplant operation and after hair transplantation. For a successful hair transplant result, attention should be paid to all 3 stages. Care should be taken at all stages of hair transplantation and what the doctor says should be followed.
After hair transplantation, care should be taken. Achieving the maximum level of success from the transactions depends on this. After the operation, the patient is informed specially. Things to do and not do are explained to the patient one by one.
Hair Transplant Results
The healing process after hair transplantation varies from person to person. The healing process covers a period of approximately 1 year.
The first 3 days after hair transplantation is very important. Much of the recovery takes place these days. You may experience some pain the first night. For this, the painkillers your doctor will give you will be sufficient.
Transplanted hair enters a new growth cycle after 2 – 4 months and begins to grow in a healthy way. From the 4th month, your hair will grow longer.
After the 8th month, you will see that your hair becomes thicker and thicker. Approximately 12 months after the operation, your transplanted hair will gain a natural appearance like your old hair.
Washing After Hair Transplantation
One of the most important criteria is washing the hair. The first wash after the operation is performed by a specialist in the clinic. Washing should be done very carefully. Since the transplanted hair follicles cannot hold tightly to their new places, they can easily break. After the first wash, the patient can do other washes on his own.
Things to consider when washing hair after hair transplantation:
- Hair should not be washed in very hot or very cold water.
- Water should not be too pressurized.
- It should not be pressed too much on the scalp.
- Products other than those recommended by the doctor should not be used.
- No sharp movements should be made to the scalp during drying.
- Drying towel should not be stiff.
Shock Shedding After Hair Transplantation
Hair starts to fall out approximately 2 weeks after the hair transplant operation. The start of hair loss in the transplanted hair creates anxiety in patients. However, this issue should not be worried. This stage, called shock loss, is a stage that every patient experiences after hair transplantation. After the shock shedding phase, new hair will grow in a healthier way instead of the shed hair.
Things to Consider After Hair Transplantation
- You should lie on your back as much as possible in the first days after the operation.
- You should avoid contact with the transplanted area.
- Small bleeding may occur in the first 3 days after the operation. It’s normal. To prevent inflammation, you should use the products given to you without interruption.
- Alcohol should not be consumed during the recovery period, especially in the first days.
- Smoking negatively affects the healing process. For this reason, you should not smoke for at least one week after the operation.
- The first month after the operation should be avoided from net and strenuous sports.
- In the first weeks after the operation, you should avoid activities that will tire you and cause you to sweat.
- The treated areas should not be exposed to direct sunlight for the first 2 weeks after the operation.
