Eyebrow transplantation is a treatment method mostly preferred by women. Eyebrows can be lost due to burns, traumas, illnesses or accidents. Eyebrows may shrink as a result of wrong eyebrow removal. This causes no eyebrows in certain areas. Eyebrows may lose their youthful volume over time. With the eyebrow transplant operation, the eyebrows can regain their old thickness.

What is Eyebrow Transplant?

Eyebrow transplant operation is performed similarly to DHI hair transplant operation. The operation is performed under local anesthesia. The operation takes approximately 2 – 4 hours. With DHI eyebrow transplantation, the desired shape can be given to the eyebrows. The pointed eyebrows can be blunted. The beginning part of the eyebrows can be made thicker. The straight eyebrow can be curved or the curved eyebrow can be made more straight.

In eyebrow transplantation, the donor area is decided first. The back of the head and nape is generally preferred as the donor area. These areas are the most ideal areas for eyebrow transplantation. Single hair follicles are collected from the donor area. Collected hair follicles are transplanted to areas without eyebrows. The transplant stage is very important for the eyebrows to look natural after the operation. At this stage, the transplanted hair should be transplanted in the same direction and angle with the natural eyebrows. Hair follicles come out from the scalp at an angle of approximately 45 degrees. The situation is different in the eyebrows. Eyebrows come out of the skin at an angle of 10 – 15 degrees. Care should be taken when transplanting with a DHI implanter pen. If the eyebrow is transplanted incorrectly, a very bad image may occur. Eyebrows can come out in the wrong direction. To prevent this, the team that will perform the eyebrow transplant operation must be experienced in the field of DHI eyebrow transplantation.

Before Eyebrow Transplantation

The cause of eyebrow loss is examined during the examination. Eyebrow transplant is planned after the examination. After planning, eyebrow design is made. In eyebrow design, attention is paid to the gender, face shape, eyebrow structure and wishes of the patient. After the personalized eyebrow design is made, the eyebrow transplantation operation is started.

When Will Eyebrows Grow After Eyebrow Transplantation?

Approximately 14 days after the eyebrow transplant, the transplanted eyebrows begin to fall off. This is part of the healing process. In this stage called shock shedding, it takes about 3 months for eyebrows to shed. Eyebrows do not fall from the 3rd month. Permanent eyebrows begin to grow 3 months after the operation. The eyebrows take their final shape in a 7-8 month period.

The roots used during eyebrow transplantation are taken from the nape area and grow as fast as hair. For this reason, it is recommended to cut and correct the ends of the eyebrows at 2-week intervals. One year after the operation, the transplanted eyebrow roots will adapt to the area where they are located and their growth rate will slow down.

Things to Consider After Eyebrow Transplantation

Recovery is very fast in DHI eyebrow transplant. Small crusting may be experienced in the operated areas for about 7 days. These crusts will shed quickly. The patient should never touch the scabs. This causes damage to the newly transplanted eyebrows.

Do not enter the pool, sea or sauna for the first 2 weeks after the operation. It should not be exposed to intense sunlight. Solarium should not be done. Intense and sweaty sports should be paused for a while.
